However, alcohol can also decrease the amount of moisture in your mouth. If you don’t have enough moisture in your mouth, it could limit your mouth’s natural cavity fighting power.
  5. Candy. One of the most damaging of foods that damage your teeth is candy – especially hard candy. Hard candies can cause chipping and cracking in the teeth. Both soft and hard candy can cause tooth decay and other problems, like gum disease. If you do eat a lot of candy, you may want to cut down.
